Son of a Bite

Description

“No one,” Alobaz said, “no one feeds her but me.”
He could have threatened to roast Sora on a spit of Fuerin fire and she would have been less terrified.
“I’ll never feed from you,” she said, infusing all the venom within her into her glare. “Never. I’ll starve first.”
“Then prepare to be hungry.”

Once the most formidable weapon of the D’Arco Dynasty, Soravelle Davana slumbers in a death-like sleep, imprisoned in a sarcophagus deep beneath the sea. After centuries, she finally awakens in horrific agony when an old enemy murders her twin brother.

With no family left, she has nothing to live for but vengeance. She vows to destroy her brother’s killer—Alobaz “Baz” Hawxley. He’s a warmonger and a murderer; a vicious, dangerously gorgeous monster. When Sora sneaks into her family’s usurped castle in disguise to murder him, her knife misses the mark and he locks her in the dungeons of her own ancestral home.

Baz is the rebirthed son of the emperor and the most fearsome general the world has ever known. When he captures Sora, a cunning assassin of legendary power and striking beauty, he realizes the tales don’t do her justice. Baz is sure the temptress is a viper, ready to strike, and Sora is off-limits, thrice over. He is only allowed to touch her if it’s to kill her.

As her need for blood is only satiated by him, their desire grows into an undeniable force. Blood may be thicker than water, but temptation has never been more deadly. When vengeance and passion collide, will the world survive the destruction?

From bestselling author Lucía Ashta comes Son of a Bite, a fresh romantasy retelling of Romeo and Juliet teeming with strange magical creatures, vindictive sentient shadows, and the fae who resist destined love as if it itself were the enemy.
